   3 # TeleStatic — Wireless Rocket Motor Static Test System #

   7 TeleStatic is a secure radio-controlled system capable of operating
   8 a rocket motor static test stand.

  10 TeleStatic uses a two-way digital radio communications system for
  11 positive indication of all operations. The communications link is
  12 secured with AES CBC-MAC to prevent accidental or intentional
  13 operation from unauthorized transmitters.

  15 TeleStatic operates in the 70cm amateur band at low power using
  16 Altus Metrum's proven modulation and coding schem to avoid interference
  17 with any rocketry electronics or other communication devices.

  19 The TeleStatic board is easily configured using USB for
  20 parameters like operating frequency, callsign, cryptographic key, and
  21 the designated bank number.

  23 A TeleStatic board can also be used as a one-channel pyro board in the
  24 larger [TeleLaunch](../TeleLaunch) system when needed.

  36 TeleStatic firmware is part of the larger [AltOS](/AltOS) suite of
  37 software.  A separate TeleStatic application for use on a laptop at the
  38 control operator's position is currently under development and will also
  39 be part of the AltOS suite.

  43 A prototype system was operated extensively during the 2017, and based
  44 on that experience a revised version of the circuit board was designed
  45 and will be tested eventually.  General availability of the TeleStatic
  46 product is expected by the end of calendar 2018.  Watch this space for
