   3 Keith and I are pleased to announce the immediate availability of TeleGPS
   4 v1.0!

   6 [TeleGPS](http://altusmetrum.org/TeleGPS) is our response to the many
   7 requests we've received for an easy-to-use tracking-only board that just
   8 provides GPS position information over radio.  Combining the
   9 same uBlox Max 7Q GPS receiver used in
  10 [TeleMega](http://altusmetrum.org/TeleMega) and
  11 [TeleMetrum v2.0](http://altusmetrum.org/TeleMetrum) with a
  12 16mW transmitter yields a board that is 1.5 x 1.0 inches (38.1 x 25.4 mm).

  14 As usual for our products, TeleGPS is designed for use under FCC Part 97
  15 (ham radio) rules or equivalent authorization.  In addition to the GPS
  16 receiver and UHF radio transmitter, TeleGPS includes on-board flash data
  17 storage and a micro USB connector for configuration, post-flight data
  18 download, and to power a LiPo battery charger.

  20 TeleGPS works with our existing ground station products and/or any radio
  21 equipped with APRS support, and also emits audible radio direction finding
  22 beeps.  While TeleGPS can be used with our existing
  23 [AltosUI](http://altusmetrum.org/AltOS) and
  24 [AltosDroid](http://altusmetrum.org/AltosDroid) ground station software,
  25 Keith is working on a simpler, dedicated application optimized for use
  26 with TeleGPS.
