   1 Earlier this year, I agreed to join the board of
   2 [Eben Moglen's](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eben_Moglen)
   3 [FreedomBox Foundation](http://freedomboxfoundation.org),
   4 and to chair the recently announced
   5 [Technical Advisory Committee](http://www.freedomboxfoundation.org/news/IntroducingTheTAC/index.en.html).

   7 To date, most of the time I've been able to personally invest in the
   8 foundation has gone towards work "behind the scenes", all of which was
   9 necessary, but little of which is worthy of external report or attention.
  10 I now believe it's time to take a more active role in communicating what
  11 we're actually trying to do, and how I think we can get there.

  13 To that end, I intend to be more visible in discussions on the
  14 [freedombox-discuss mailing list](http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/freedombox-discuss).
  15 I'm also accumulating a list of interesting technical challenges that I'll
  16 articulate here over time, along with status reports I believe are worthy
  17 of broad dissemination.
