Andreas Barth approached me about providing resources to support his effort 
to build packages for 
<a href="http://packages.debian.org/experimental/">experimental</a> 
and 
<a href="http://volatile.debian.net">debian-volatile</a>.  Seemed worthwhile, 
so I poked around and found enough working pieces to put
an ia64 system online last night for him to use.
