Turn-On Log for TeleMetrum boards 2010.04.08 - First production run received from Advanced Circuits, 54 units of v1.0. To be complete, each board needs: - add GPS patch antenna - add customer choice of pyro connector - remove C38 (wrong value, optional) - replace C36 with 1uF (better value) - sn 208 persistent crc error problems communicating over UHF link - sn 209 solder bridge across C3, caused USB enumeration failure. removed the short and it works ok. img_9568.jpg GPS sensitivity seems very low .. ok with off-board amplified patch 2010.04.09 - sn 210 missing J9, installed from my parts stock. img_9571.jpg kapton tape left over baro sensor port, removed with tweezers. img_9572.jpg nominal performance - sn 211 U4 installed 180 degrees rotated, thus 5V supply not working, accel gave weird values. Removed and replaced with fresh part. img_9573.jpg nominal performance - sn 212 nominal performance 2010.04.10 - sn 213 kapton on baro GPS sensitivity seems low .. ok with off-board amplified patch after it has locked once, re-locks just fine with onboard patch - sn 214 kapton on baro nominal performance - sn 215 R8 appears damaged, seemed to work, but removed and replaced anyway persistent invalid crcs - sn 216 may be ok - sn 217 kapton on baro - sn 218 kapton on baro - sn 219 missing J9 - sn 220 kapton on baro - sn 221 kapton on baro - sn 222 kapton on baro - sn 223 may be ok - sn 224 kapton on baro - sn 225 may be ok - sn 226 kapton on baro - sn 227 kapton on baro - Summary Thoughts: I really don't understand the missing J9 connectors. The empty parts baggie that was in the package of stuff sent to me says 56 were purchased, and we only have 54 boards. Where'd they go? And can someone explain how a big red connector that's so visually obvious could be missed in QA? The one solder bridge and one damaged 0402 resistor found so far may just be par for the course at this price/service level? 2010.04.26 - received Taoglas AP.17A.07.0040A amplified patches. Installed one on sn 208 and confirmed functionality and performance. I still see sn 208 exhibiting a problem where sometimes it emits 100% CRC errors over the UHF link and other times it's fine. Keep this one for myself, don't ship it! - sn 228 + remove kapton on baro + install SMA + install Tyco + remove C36 + remove C38 + install C36 1uF 1186569 10.06 dBm Nathan E Dalrymple Order #123677903482987 - sn 229 + remove kapton on baro + install SMA + install screws + remove C36 + remove C38 + install C36 1uF + replace accel with 100g part 1186581 10.24 dBm Robert J Finch Order #335810048524542
